It’s been a great year for The Junction, our first year operating at Perins and the school Guinea Pigs have been a huge part of the unit’s success. Unfortunately, a few weeks ago, the lovely Ferdi passed away, we were very sad and his brother Fonzie was a little bit lost. Research says that Guinea Pigs shouldn’t live alone – so we contacted Keki’s Guinea Pig Rescue in Basingstoke. She had a lonely little boy Guinea Pig called Pip, and was happy to see if Fonzie and Pip could be bonded. It was a huge success and I’m so happy to say, Pip and Fonzie are in school and helping the students in The Junction.
This has been such a big success that we would like to have the same happen in the new Emotional Vulnerable Unit (The Station), but we need your help! We are looking for indoor cages – 160 Ferplast would be ideal, outdoor hutches/runs and donations of hay, hay and more hay. And if you are feeling really generous, I’m sure Keki Guinea Pig Rescue would love any donations too!
So welcome to Perins Pip! And a big sad goodbye to Ferdi!
