Careers Talk – Breaking into Sports Broadcasting

Perins students had the incredible opportunity to hear from 2011 leaver, Alumni Ashleigh Wilmot on 6th March, as she shared her inspiring journey into the world of sports broadcasting.

Speaking to a group of 40 eager students, Ashleigh recounted the challenges, setbacks, and perseverance required to break into the industry. Her story highlighted the importance of resilience and passion, proving that with determination, success is possible—even in highly competitive fields.

Ashleigh has built an impressive career, presenting rugby on TNT Sports and mountain biking on Eurosport. If you’ve been to Twickenham Stadium, you might have heard her as an announcer, and she continues to inspire through her podcast, Stronger Together.
