Brandon Shines at the Track and Field County Championships

We’re thrilled to share some fantastic news from the Track and Field County Championships, held over the weekend of 10–11 May. Year 9 student Brandon had a standout weekend, competing in five events and achieving three personal bests. An outstanding achievement at such a high level of competition.
Brandon qualified for the U15 Boys 100m final, and then went even faster in the final itself. A brilliant result, particularly as he’s one of the youngest and smallest in the age group. Reaching the final alone was a major accomplishment, but to improve again on his time under pressure really showed his composure and determination.
He also recorded a personal best in the 3000m, finishing third in the county and bringing home a bronze medal in the U15 Boys event. As if that weren’t enough, he added another PB in the high jump and also competed in the long jump, rounding out a very busy and successful weekend.
Brandon’s achievements are a testament to his dedication, resilience and love of athletics. It was also fantastic to see him competing alongside fellow students Summer S and Oliver M, who both achieved excellent results of their own – a brilliant experience and a proud moment for all involved.
Looking ahead, Brandon is excited to broaden his athletic journey with plans to learn hurdles, pole vault and triple jump in the near future. We can't wait to see what he takes on next!
Well done, Brandon, we are so proud of everything you’ve achieved.
