For five days in May half term 2023, The Perins Geography department took 34 of our Y9 and Y10 students to the land of fire and ice. Students saw some spectacular scenery on this magical island that has erupted out of the North Atlantic. Students got to really see, hear, feel and breathe the Geography of this unique place.
Students got to stand between North America and Eurasian tectonic plates, stand behind waterfalls, bathe in geothermal pools, explore the most northerly capital city in the world and get up close to a recent lava flow amongst many exciting activities on this action-packed trip. Students will have gone home with memories and learning experiences to last a lifetime. – Mr A Sawdy
