The Duke of Edinburgh's Award at Perins

DofE is a leading youth charity which gives all young people the chance to develop skills for life and work, fulfil their potential and have a brighter future. Participating in the DofE provides young people with many amazing adventures and masses of fun as they take part in a range of activities, all leading to the achievement of an award that’s recognised by universities and employers alike.

Participants attend regular evening meetings to monitor their progress in the award and to develop the skills needed to go on the organised expeditions, which have proved to be challenging, sometimes wet, and also great fun!

“A big congratulations to all the Year 10s, who took part in the Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award Assessed Expedition. Their organisation and teamwork were amazing and they were the first year group ever, to have every team leave the campsite by 9 am (40 students). All enjoyed the weekend, especially the weather compared to the torrential rain during the Practice Expedition. Assessors were so pleased that they asked when next year’s expedition would be, as they wanted to work with the school again. Amazing work everyone!” – Miss Sweetman- Head of Year 10
