We are very excited to inform you that a few spaces have become available for some Year 11 students to see a production of William Shakespeare’s great comedy ‘Much Ado about Nothing’. This will be a chance to watch the play in a reconstruction of the theatre where Shakespeare’s plays were originally performed and will help bring this classic text to life for the students. Some students in the school are studying the text for GCSEs and have been granted first priority, but there are now a handful of seats available to any avid theatre-goers or Shakespeare fans in Year 11, and will be beneficial for those students even studying other Shakespeare texts.
Trip details are as follows:
Date: Friday 14th October 2022
Venue: The Globe Theatre London
Time: Depart: Perins School at 16.00
Return: Perins School approx. 00.30-01.00 (traffic dependent!)
Cost: £28.87 (includes ticket and coach travel)
Places are VERY limited and unfortunately the turnaround is going to have to be very quick, so please register your interest by giving consent on your child’s Scopay account by 9am on Friday October 7th. PLEASE DO NOT MAKE A PAYMENT UNTIL YOUR PLACE IS CONFIRMED. If we are oversubscribed on the remaining seats we will draw names out at random and results will be confirmed on the afternoon of the same day, Friday 7th. If your child is successfully selected at random you will need to pay for your ticket via Scopay by 9am on Monday 10th. Again we are conscious that this is a tight turnaround but unfortunately needs must in this situation. Any tickets not paid for by this date will go back in to the draw and your child will no longer be able to go on the trip. Any student who is not picked out at random will be placed on a waiting list and we will be in touch as soon as possible if a place becomes available. If you cannot access your child’s Scopay account please email financeteam@perins.hants.sch.uk.
Your child will need to bring a packed tea, snacks and drinks with them to eat on arrival at the theatre.
Please ensure your child’s medical details held by the school are up to date, you will be asked to confirm this as part of the process to register your interest in the trip.
Please note that the tickets we need to purchase from the theatre are non-refundable, therefore if your child is unable to attend this trip once you have paid we will unfortunately be unable to issue a refund. With enough notice we will endeavour to re-sell your ticket if there is a waiting list.
Kind regards,
