Head of School’s Letter 22nd Jan 2025

Dear parents and carers

I hope you are all managing to successfully stick to your New Year’s resolutions and that any new routines are becoming second nature.

At Perins, each year group has now attended a lockdown information assembly. Today, we conducted our first full lockdown drill, following a pre-planned scenario based on real experiences from other schools. We assessed the school’s vulnerabilities (students were pre-warned to avoid any anxiety), and during their tutor period, students had the opportunity to share their feelings and provide feedback on the event.

While we hope never to use this procedure in a real situation, regular rehearsals, like our fire drills, are essential to identify and address any areas for improvement.

If you are interested in playing a more active role in The Perins Multi-Academy Trust, we are partnering with Nurole, a leading board-level search specialist, to recruit a new Chair of Trustees. You can find out more and apply here. For an informal conversation or any other queries, please contact caroline.olsen@nurole.com. The closing date for applications is 24th January 2025.

We are excited to share that a member of Perins staff will be running the London Marathon later this year to raise funds for Endometriosis South Coast. Ms. Sargent is happy for me to share this information, as it may be a cause close to your heart and you can support her marathon fundraising efforts here.

As we look forward to the rest of this half term, our calendar is filled with activities for our students to get involved in and try something new.

Let us work together to inspire our young people to aim high in 2025 and create fond memories of their achievements throughout the year!

Yours Faithfully

Mark Nevola
