Ethan L (Y10) started playing ice hockey at the age of 5 with the Cardiff Junior Devils. At the age of 8, Ethan was called up as an underage to trial with the regional team and was selected for the squad that went on to win the regional finals. The following year, Ethan was made captain of the regional team in his last year of U11’s. He has been part of the regional team ever since.
Ethan currently plays for Swindon, the team has just won the league. He has travelled to Kitchener in Ontario to train with the NHL Tampa Bay lightning skills and development coach. In February 2023 Ethan played in a AAA tournament in Montreal, scoring in all 9 games.
In April 2023 Ethan was selected to play for England in Bratislava after making his way through the trials. In December 2022 he was called up to trial along with 48 other players from England, Scotland and Wales for the Great Britain Olympic 3 on 3 team, who will play in the Winter Olympics in South Korea in January 2024. He passed the first and second trials and has secured a spot after 28 cuts were made and is returning to his third trial on July 8th.
In May 2023 Ethan was called up for the Great Britain U16’s men’s team trials which start in July and if successful, will travel to Riga in April 2024. This is an outstanding sporting achievement and Perins is very proud of you Ethan.
