In half term, the History department took 40 year 9 students to the WWI battlefields of Belgium and France. The students visited several memorials and cemeteries, including Tyne Cot, Langemark, Thiepval, and Vimy Ridge.
They were also able to take part in several pilgrimages to find relatives who had fought in the war. The school laid a wreath at the Menin gate and even had their photo taken with the buglers. The trip was a great success, and the students were a credit to the school.
A big thank you to both the students and staff.
