I am delighted to be writing to you to invite students to the Year 11 Leavers’ Prom 2025. The venue for the Prom has been confirmed at the Voco Winchester, previously known as Holiday Inn Winchester, SO21 1HZ. The agreed date is Friday 27th June 2025. The ticket price will be approximately £40 and will cover catering at the venue, a welcome drink, and the hiring of a DJ for the evening.
In addition, the year group will be completing their own fundraising ideas to support any extras they would like for the Prom evening and for their Leavers Day. The funds generated from these events will support decorations and any added extras the Prom Committee plan to introduce.
We have high expectations of all Year 11 students and at this stage we are inviting your son/daughter to the Prom as we trust that they will fulfill all the criteria below. If it becomes clear that a student is not fulfilling the criteria, their invitation will be withdrawn. All decisions will consider individual circumstances, with the final decision being made by the Senior Leadership Team.
Criteria for invitation to the Prom, students must:
- Have an attendance of 95%, or above, between Monday 9 September 2024 and Friday 23 May 2025 (end of exam period). Valid medical reasons that impact attendance will be discussed and admission to the Prom will be at the discretion of the Senior Leadership Team;
- Demonstrate exemplary behaviour in lessons, social time and during the exam period;
- Be punctual for lessons, 95% or above;
- Have 100% of their NEA completed and handed into the subject teacher within subject deadlines;
- To attend all GCSE examinations in the summer Exam Period;
- To achieve net 100 achievement points before the summer Exam Period;
- Any suspension during Year 11 will result in a student not being invited to the Prom.
The Prom is a school trip. It is supported by Perins’ staff, as well as Holiday Inn staff, who ensure the smooth running of the event. As with any school trip, where behaviour is not of the level we would expect, parents may be phoned to pick up their child from the Prom.
A 25% deposit of £10 will be required to secure your child’s ticket and our school booking, by Friday 15th November 2024, via Scopay. Scopay will be available from Wednesday 6th November 2024.
We would love all Year 11 students to attend the Prom. It is an excellent send off for all, and an evening that they will look back on with great fondness. It is also a chance to celebrate with Staff that have supported them during their time at Perins.
