We are very excited to inform you that the School is running a trip to St Hugh’s College, Oxford University. There are 35 spaces for Year 10 students and the trip will run on Tuesday 24th September 2024. The trip is aimed at students who may aspire to apply to a top-level university such as Oxford, Cambridge or Russell Group Universities. The purpose of this trip is to gain better insight into the application process, what it is like studying at a top university, prerequisite qualifications and range of courses available. Perins School recognises that trips are an important part of school life and as well as forming lifelong memories, they help students and staff develop positive and rewarding relationships. With this in mind, we would ask that you share this wonderful opportunity with your child.

Financials
The trip is deemed to be an educational trip as it takes place during school hours and we are requesting a voluntary contribution. Please note, that although the contribution is voluntary, the trip may not go ahead if we do not receive sufficient contributions.
To be considered for the trip, we would ask that you complete the form in your Scopay account and make the voluntary contribution of £24.30 by 9am on Monday 29th July 2024.
Places are limited to 35 students, and if the trip is over-subscribed, we will hold a random draw. You will be added to the waiting list and refunded if unsuccessful. If your child has been allocated a place on the trip but subsequently cannot attend, we will try our best to resell their place but can only issue a refund if we are able to resell. In the event of insufficient interest for us to run the trip, then all payments will be refunded.
Selection and Student Expectation
For all trips, we recognise that parents have made a financial commitment and expect their child to have an enjoyable and worthwhile experience. We also recognise that staff often give up their own time to enable students to have these experiences. If the school believes that the behaviour of a student is of such a concern that it raises questions around the safety and enjoyment of the trip by others in attendance, then we reserve the right to not offer a place or remove a student prior to or during a trip.
In normal circumstances and where the behaviour is not a single serious incident, staff will have meetings with students and parents to express concerns so that the student has an opportunity to improve their behaviour and parents have the opportunity to remove their child from the trip to mitigate any further financial loss should they not be permitted to attend. If the school is left with no alternative but to remove a student from a trip, then any payments will not be recoverable by the parent/carer unless a replacement can be found.
If you have any questions, please email – trips@perins.hants.sch.uk
