On Friday 21st, Perins charity day in aid of the Dogs Trust, saw the return, as a pilot, of the free dress day. Raising over £1200.
The atmosphere at lunchtime with the charity fundraising stalls and sports challenges was immense. Students were happy, supportive, and enjoying being at school.
“Huge well done to Year 10 who have raised £1241 for the Dogs Trust. Each tutor group worked collaboratively to make the day a huge success. I am really proud to be their Head of Year.” – Miss Sweetman.
Thank you to everyone involved in making this such a success.
It has been a long time since Year 10 were involved with fundraising and working collaboratively for a good cause. Year 10 tutor groups were tasked with choosing a charity that was important to them. These were shared with the year group and the year group voted to raise money for the Dogs Trust. Senior prefects and Head prefects presented to all year groups last week about the charity, what the charity does and why it is important to them. They also promoted activities on offer at Friday lunchtime. General prefects went round all tutor groups to raise further awareness and answer any questions students had prior to the charity day.
Friday was a huge success. Each Year 10 tutor group hosted a lunchtime activity: dodgeball, penalty shoot out, glitter tattoos, cake sale, 100 squares challenge, raffle, lucky dip and guess how many in the jar. The activities were run by students from each tutor group, and it was a lovely atmosphere out on the field at lunchtime.
