Year 10 & 11 Business & Economics students visited Winchester College last week to take part in a Young Economists workshop where working with other schools, they had to come up with a new Economic policy that would increase GDP in the UK. They presented their policy ideas to a judging panel of Winchester College students who questioned the groups about their policies. Our students demonstrated excellent problem-solving, teamwork and presentation skills and dealt with the challenging questions incredibly.
After having dinner in the historic College Hall, students then watched a speech by the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Jeremy Hunt. Mr Hunt talked about how technology will shape Economic policy in the future as well as discussing the various cabinet roles he has held and the experiences that these roles have given him. There was then a Q&A session with the Chancellor.
