This term, as part of the English curriculum, year 7 and 8 students have enjoyed participating in the Reading Challenge! This has involved them reading a range of books of their own choice (taken from a selection of different categories) and completing ‘bonus challenges’ on those books.
These activities have included writing book reviews, creating author fact files, word searches and crosswords featuring novel-specific vocabulary, sketching their impression of key characters and annotating with the character’s qualities and personality traits to name just a few. Classes have competed against one another within their year groups to be the most productive and the winners were announced this week!
Year 7’s winning class – 7H1 with Natalia D winning overall.
Year 8’s winning class – 8P1 with Laura D winning overall.
Tea parties for the winning classes will take place before the end of term.
