TEAM SPORTS SUMMARY:
Tennis
Our tennis teams have been playing league fixtures in the Hampshire round of the LTA School Championships. All three teams have won their pool matches to top their leagues, they will now progress into the knock-out stages of the event after half term.
Cricket
We have played Hampshire Cup fixtures against Portsmouth Grammar School and Toynbee. In addition, our inter house cricket competition, the Perins 100, is well under way.
Athletics
80 athletes have competed in 12 competitions to date. Highlights thus far include:
- our Y7 girls and Y8/9 Boys teams qualifying for the County Track Semi-Finals
- Ned S (Javelin), Evie S (Hammer) and Ben B (High Jump) winning their events in the National Track & Field Cup 1st Round @ Portsmouth. Ned threw 44.33m, a new school record
- the following students qualifying to represent E&W District at the 2023 Hampshire Schools Athletics Championships:
- Jemima N (U15 Girls 100m & 4x100m)
- Evie S (U17 Girls Hammer)
- Sophie Y (U17 Girls 3000m)
- Ned S (U15 Boys Javelin)
- Jake V (U15 Boys Javelin)
- Tom M (U17 Boys 800m)
- Ben B (U17 Boys HJ)
- Ethan I (U17 Boys Shot)
Golf
22 students have been attending weekly lessons at Alresford Golf Club. Three Perins students recently competed in the Hampshire team championships at Hockley Golf Club and finished 16th.
