Welcome back to the final term of this academic year. As the weather begins to hopefully warm up, we would like to take this opportunity to remind parents of our uniform policy at Perins.
Perins is a uniform-wearing school, and as such we have very clear requirements with regard to what students should wear. Perins School Blazer is a compulsory part of the uniform that students are expected to be wearing to and from lessons and onto the school site. Blazers must be worn, not placed into bags or hung over bags. The school policy states that blazers are only optional after the May half-term, and even then, they are only to be replaced by a black school jumper. Coats and jackets do not replace blazers or jumpers.
The uniform policy also states that there should be no jewellery, except a maximum of two studs, one in each ear lobe. We’d appreciate parental support on this and ask that you do not let your child have extra piercings, or at the minimum ensure that earrings are not worn during school time.
It also states that acrylic, extension, or extra-long nails and coloured nail varnish are not permitted but clear or nude nail varnish can be worn. The nail extensions provide a health and safety risk should they catch another student during the school day.
We understand there may be times when uniforms may need to be adapted to suit the needs of a student. If a parent/carer feels this is the case please contact the tutor or Head of Year as soon as possible. Please also ensure all items brought/worn into school are clearly labelled.
PE Uniform: The vast majority of students are arriving at PE lessons in immaculate PE kit – thank you for your support in ensuring this. To a very small minority, please remember the following:
- shorts, skorts, leggings or tracksuits tops / bottoms must be navy in colour
- leggings must be worn under shorts or a skort
- shorts must be loose fitting and reach mid – thigh (ie, not cycling shorts / hot pants or under shorts)
- PE kit cannot be worn to school unless advised by school staff via email

Thank you for your cooperation in this matter
